Test lift spitfire prior to the project to determine the correct bolt alignments, transport to Heathrow, place into T2 and lift into position.

Due to the weight restrictions, the mini crane was stripped down to ensure we could achieve the SWL of the lift.

Large steel incorporated allowed us to ensure we achieved the 450 per square metre point loading.

The lorry loader attended Leicestershire to test lift the spitfire prior to the install in T2.

The spitfire was then loaded 2 weeks later after painting and was delivered to Heathrow Airport T2. The spitfire was loaded into the lift in sections working alongside structural engineers. The pads used were designed to achieve a point load below 450kn per metre square.

The plane was lifted by using slings on the front, with a sling and chain block on the rear to allow it to be landed with a 33-degree pitch.

Once the hoarding was removed, the stand was up and running and ready to sell watches.
